I have a longtime love of books, but until last Christmas I never really tried making one myself. The bookmaking process itself didn’t seem like it would be too hard, especially after I chose to use “stab binding” and abandoned making it a hardcover. I broke three needles trying to thread holes that I had made too small. Finally I wised up and used a slightly larger bit and enlarged the holes. (Fun fact: using a drill makes for cleaner holes than a paper awl!)
The harder part of the bookmaking process was deciding what to put in it. I hope my sister-in-law Anna likes it; you can see the results in the pictures accompanying this post.
